About Mobidata

Last updated: 2026-04-15

Mobidata replaces the paper-based intake form that phone shops fill out every time they buy a preowned phone. Every device on our marketplace is backed by a verified intake record: seller KYC, IMEI, condition photos, and a short consent video. That provenance is what makes a Mobidata listing different from a generic classified ad.

For merchants

  • Record each intake in under two minutes — offline-capable on mobile.
  • Capture 10 private photos (NID front + back, nominee card front + back, seller selfie, 5 phone photos) plus a 15 – 60 second consent video.
  • Invite staff with scoped roles: data entry, verifier, marketplace manager.
  • Publish only what you choose to the public marketplace.

For buyers

  • Browse preowned phones with full chain-of-custody transparency.
  • Verified-merchant badges tell you the shop is registered and has passed our onboarding checks.
  • Save listings, contact the merchant, and report anything suspicious.

Trust by construction

Consent videos are legal evidence — they are captured camera-only, hashed with SHA-256 on the device, verified server-side on upload, and trusted-timestamped via RFC3161. A cross-region R2 mirror and a monthly immutable B2 archive mean we do not lose evidence even if Cloudflare's primary region disappears. No single admin can purge a device record; every hard delete requires a second administrator's approval.

Open plans

Our architecture, trade-offs, and honest legal gaps are public in the repository — from the durability stack to the list of things we haven't built yet (like GSMA IMEI checking and on-platform escrow).
